RC Balaban joined the Richmond Fed in 2021 as a senior managing editor in the Research Department, where he manages the Economic Brief series. Previously, he spent nearly eight years with the St. Louis Fed in various in various capacities, including supervising blogs, publications, podcasts and social media, as well as overseeing web management and analytics.

He earned bachelor’s degrees in economic and journalism-news editorial from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is pursuing a master’s of science degree in applied financial economics from Saint Louis University.
