In this role, Bareford works with the Bank’s president and management committee in setting strategic vision and business objectives for the District, ensuring financial and operational performance, as well as supporting the System’s operational strategy. She oversees the Bank’s financial services, as well as a workforce of approximately 1,400 employees in Richmond, Charlotte, Baltimore and across the System.

During Bareford’s 20 year career at the Richmond Fed, she has successfully led multiple functions and support services, as well as a variety of complex programs across the Federal Reserve System.

She joined the Richmond Fed in 1998, serving in various roles in the accounting and procurement functions. In 2007, she was named assistant vice president for Corporate Accounting, with responsibility for the Bank’s financial management services, including cost accounting, budgeting and procurement. She was promoted to vice president of Human Resources with primary responsibility for the Federal Reserve’s payroll services in 2012, and named senior vice president of administrative services in 2014, with responsibility for human resources, financial management services, and the Federal Reserve System’s procurement and payroll operations.

Bareford has served on the board of the Virginia Business Leadership Network, in addition to supporting other community-based organizations.

Bareford is a native of Virginia and earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Tech.
